She/her/hers

In life, there are moments of hardship that can leave us feeling overwhelmed and weighed down by the burdens we face. These challenges can take the form of difficult relationships, work/school-related stressors, or other obstacles that test our resolve.  I understand that seeking therapy can be a challenging process, and together, we can create a safe and trusting experience where we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in detail. We will work through any challenges you may face with empathy and understanding, and I will provide you with a secure and compassionate space to share your experiences and emotions. Our goal is to help you gain insight into your inner world, identify patterns, and develop new skills and strategies to help you navigate life more effectively.

As an experienced practitioner, I have had the opportunity to work with clients presenting different issues, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, struggles and disconnection in intimate relationships, family dysregulation, and life transitions. Throughout my career and personal experiences, I have observed the profound impact that learned templates and coping mechanisms, as well as impacts from previous relationships, can have on various aspects of life. Understanding these factors is crucial in developing effective interventions and treatment plans for those seeking help.

I work with couples, families, individuals, and adolescents in developing vital lifelong skills. My expertise extends to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective treatment model that helps individuals make sense of trauma and anxiety. I also employ Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, which provides useful communication techniques to foster strong relationships. My qualifications include certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist. Additionally, I have received training in Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and transgenerational trauma. I have a background in working with addictions and possess extensive knowledge of family dynamics and the formation of healthy attachments. As a wife and mother, I have been able to appreciate firsthand the complexities of family dynamics.

A Safe Place to Explore

I facilitate a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic space, which encourages clients to engage in self-exploration of their processes. Counseling represents a collaborative experience that fosters personal growth and development within individuals, couples, teens, and families. My primary aim is to support my clients in reaching their full potential by providing meaningful insights and perspectives on potential solutions to their challenges. As a therapist with extensive training in multiple therapeutic modalities, I strive to provide personalized care to my clients.  The ultimate goal is to enable clients to discover their most authentic selves and to establish meaningful connections to those important in their lives.

Concept body, mind, Soul, spirit   When we achieve balance in our lives, we experience a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose. We become more open to new experiences and find it easier to connect with others on a deeper level. By striving for authenticity, we gain clarity about the people and experiences that have influenced us and shaped us into the individuals we are today. This process can be challenging but is ultimately rewarding, as it helps us to develop a stronger sense of self and how we show up in relationships. It’s important to remember that growth and healing are always possible, regardless of our age or the challenges we face. Therapy provides an excellent opportunity to identify and develop our inherent strengths, allowing us to replace negative self-talk and unproductive expectations with a sense of competence, purpose, and serenity. In therapy, we work together to identify and challenge these unhelpful beliefs, allowing you to develop a more positive and realistic view of yourself and your abilities. By cultivating a sense of self-compassion and curiosity, you can learn to approach life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience. While therapy is a valuable tool for personal growth and healing, it’s important to remember that the skills you develop during your sessions can be applied beyond the counseling setting. I am committed to helping my clients build toolboxes that are practical, accessible, and applicable to their everyday lives, promoting their long-term well-being and success.

My Life Outside Of Work

Long pier during sunset

Throughout my life, I have been fortunate enough to have had many diverse experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. I am a firm believer in personal growth and lifelong learning, which is why I am currently pursuing my PhD in Psychology. My aim is not only to further my knowledge, but also to use my expertise to benefit my clients. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family, friends, and pets. My family and I are avid travelers and enjoy exploring new cultures and countries. We have been to many different parts of the world, and I always find it fascinating to learn about different cultures and ways of life. When I’m not traveling, I enjoy being outdoors and exploring the beautiful Colorado scenery through hiking and running. I also find yoga and meditation to be great ways to unwind and take care of myself, which is why I’m currently working towards becoming a trauma-informed yoga instructor. In addition to my personal interests, I am also passionate about leadership and community. During my time serving on the board of Delta Kappa, I realized the importance of leadership and community in the field of mental health. Since then, I have become an active member of many local groups, including those focused on couples and family therapy, parenting, professional development, and anti-racism/anti-oppression movements. Through these groups, I have been able to learn and grow alongside others who share my values. Overall, I am always striving to learn, grow, and cultivate cultural competence. I believe that by continuously expanding my knowledge and experiences, I can better serve my clients and make a positive impact in the world.
