Our mission is to provide high quality individual, relationship, and family counseling services utilizing effective, evidenced-based models while creating a safe and compassionate environment to promote growth. We are seeking a contact therapist that specializes in play therapy that would like to grow with our team and enjoys collaborating.
The therapist will work with children ages 3 and older who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges in a private practice setting. The therapist will use play therapy techniques and interventions to help children express themselves and work through their difficulties in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop a treatment plan
- Create and implement individualized play therapy sessions for clients
- Engage children in play therapy activities that are age-appropriate and tailored to their specific needs
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to express themselves and work through challenges
- Utilize play therapy techniques such as art, sand tray, puppets, and games to facilitate healing and growth
- Collaborate with clients’ families to ensure continuity of care and provide support and guidance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, progress notes, and treatment plans
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in play therapy
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
- License or eligibility for licensure as a play therapist or mental health professional in Colorado
- Must be trained or willing to be trained in Synergetic Play Therapy
- Experience working with children who have behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges
- Knowledge of child development and the therapeutic benefits of play
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach to working with clients and their families.
- Maintain an individual business through the Secretary of State in good standing, as well as current liability insurance.
Working Conditions:
The play therapist will work in a private practice clinic setting in Broomfield, CO, typically on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and/or weekends. The therapist will work closely with clients and their families and will need to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
